Frequently Asked Questions (Tech Support)

Q1. What kind of 9V batteries can I use with the Quantum Light?

A1. Carbon zinc, re-chargeable, alkaline, or lithium. These are listed in increasing order of battery life. For your convenience, we sell batteries also. DO NOT try to charge any battery except a re-chargeable one (NiCd or NiMH) as another type may explode causing injury, fire, or both.

Q2. What is the Quantum Light battery life?

A2. It depends upon the battery type and usage of the flashlight (how bright it is and for how long). With intermittent use, it can easily last 6 months. If it is on constantly at maximum brightness, it can range from 5 to 20 hours. Leaving the flashlight or batteries in your car or outside during cold weather will reduce the life of the batteries.

Q3.  What if the battery door only seems to open slightly?

A3. Place your thumb tips in the opening and pull the door down. This is due to some batteries being slightly thicker than others. There is a piece of foam under the battery meant to keep the battery from being loose and noisily banging around inside the case. If you prefer, you can remove this foam by pulling it off the case.

Q4. How can I locate the power button in the dark to turn on the Quantum Light flashlight?

A4. Actually, any button will turn on the light to make it easier in the dark. The power button must be used to turn off the light since the other buttons are used for other functions while it is on.

Q5. Is a clip available for the Quantum Light flashlight?

A5. Yes - a swivel belt clip is included. Do not place the adhesive button on the battery door or on the joint between the battery door and the body of the flashlight.

Q6. How do I use the belt clip with the Quantum Light flashlight?

A6. Do not place the adhesive button on the battery door or on the joint between the battery door and the body of the flashlight. Peel the paper off of the button to reveal the adhesive. Place the button at the desired location on the BACK of the flashlight, press down, and hold for thirty seconds. Simply slide the button attached to the flashlight into the clip until you hear a "click." There is a release mechanism on the clip to allow removal of the flashlight from the clip. Hold it down while sliding the flashlight from the clip. We assume no liability for improper use of the clip.

Q7. What is an LED?

A7. LED stands for light-emitting diode. It is a pn-junction semiconductor that emits light when current flows through it in the proper direction and at a proper voltage. An LED uses less current than a standard incandescent flashlight bulb. An LED also has a much longer lifetime and dissipates much less heat than a standard flashlight bulb.
