Awesome “Puzzle”I got this for my son who is planning on becoming an engineer, loves puzzles, and really needed something to keep him occupied. He LOVED it! Unfortunately, it didn’t keep him occupied for long so I ended up ordering him another type of working 3-D puzzle, but that’s because he got so hyper-focused he put this together in no time flat. Highly recommend this for someone who likes to build and create and needs something to keep them busy!

Fun but not for longThis was fairly easy to assemble and functioned well for a little bit. However the trigger broke after a few launches and it is not useable now. Disappointing.

Short LivedMy son got this kit for a history project for school. Assembly went easily and my son greatly enjoyed it! He fired the ballista a few times to test its performance. He then set it aside to excitedly await the following day’s opportunity to set a historical scene and make a video for his history project. He left the tension bands in place and the model was safely placed on a table. It was not touched! The next day, to everyone’s surprise, the ballista was separated in two! The location in which the ballista was placed is very dry and hot- near a wood burning stove. The heat, dryness and tension of the rubber bands must have caused a narrow transition in piece D-10 to simply separate, the wood fibers pulling apart. We were very disappointed by this… especially since we couldn’t use the model for the purpose for which it was purchased. It was fun to assemble and is attractive and can simply sit on a shelf, but beware of actually intending to demonstrate a ballista’s function by firing it. A bit expensive for but a few hours of enjoyment!

Fun to buildI built the Jeep first, broke pieces putting together. Found that sanding the ends of the pins help when installing them. The wood is thicker and stronger doing this one. Make sure you wax the gears as it makes a difference in smoothness of operation. I am building the train engine now, a lot more pieces.
