Great for lil ones.My 5 year old has been asking for this for a long time, finally got it for her on her bday. It’s super easy to use and does not very hot at all incase you’re worried that your lil one might get burned. My 3 year old also uses it and had fun with it.

Great for kids, doesn’t get hot enough to burn.The plastic that comes with is not strong enough draw upward to make 3d shapes. Also the pen will stop after about a minute or two if left constantly feeding filament out and will have to reboot the pen to reset and go again but it goes through the heat up process again too. So pause the feed periodically to avoid this inconvienent…what I guess is a safety measure. The pen feeds the filament slow enough for a kid to keep up. Also I touched the tip and hot plastic, it was warm but didn’t feel hot enough to burn. My 9 yr old has been having fun with it. Personally this is definatly a toy for a creative child with lots of patients and a steady hand.

Great Customer Sevice From The ManufacturerPurchased this item for my daughter back in December. She loves it! After about 2 months we noticed it wouldn’t charge, I contacted the manufacturer and the item was replaced super fast. The customer service was great and I will be buying refils to keep the fun going!

Fantastic – the kids are obsessedI was worried that it might be a great fit for our 11-year-old and a little challenging for our 9-year-old. They’ve both been obsessed. They’ve made glasses, rocket ships, dreamcatchers, etc. My youngest has also taken to just writing cursive words with the pen. The first pen we had didn’t quite work as the directions suggested. When I reached out to the company about it, the response was speedy and very understanding. I’d said “We can use it, we just can’t get the reverse to work to get the “ink” back out. But it’s no big deal.” The person who emailed said “We want it to do what it’s supposed to do! We’ll send you a new one.” We did eventually get it to work kind of winging it, but by the time that happened, the company had already checked in with us and sent us a replacement with super no-hassle return shipping materials and labels so we can send the quirky one back. My oldest said “That was fast!” She’s also already asked for replacement filament for her birthday. I’m blown away by how good the instruction book is, how accessible this device is for young kids, how creative they’ve been with it, and how quick and helpful the customer service has been. Easily the highlight of the Christmas season in our house.

Tiresome for small hands to useI bought two of these pens for my kids for Christmas. They are new to 3D pens and these are fun. But even at 13 and 10, these pens are exhausting for them to use for more than 15 minutes. They come with a nice array of filaments, but the pen is slow and hard to press. We also had an issue where one of the pens wouldn’t hold a charge. If you do end up with a pen that doesn’t work, I recommend sending it back to HyperGizmo for a replacement. I tried to address the issue with the company’s customer service rep and after multiple emails back and forth with them asking for pictures and details and clarifications, they wanted to schedule a tech appointment with me. It took forever and meanwhile my kid was watching his brother play with his functioning pen and it was just a waste of time and efforts. So I opted to return it to HyperGizmo and they sent me a new one immediately with no drama.

Perfect for my 9 year oldMy nine year old was gifted this for Christmas. Our pen unfortunately jammed and stopped working, however, the company provided great customer service and sent us a replacement. Once they received our original, they were able to diagnose the problem and let us know what happened to help prevent the issue occurring with the replacement.
